Raising Reading Boys

This article from the Wall Street Journal is a fabulous expression about the connection between education and electronic media, especially for boys.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704271804575405511702112290.html

The best quote in this opinion piece is as follows:

"One obvious problem with the SweetFarts philosophy of education is that it is more suited to producing a generation of barbarians and morons than to raising the sort of men who make good husbands, fathers and professionals. If you keep meeting a boy where he is, he doesn't go very far."

I couldn't agree more. Thanks, Thomas Spence!

Book Club

We finally started a book club! We met for the first time today and didn't even decide what we would read next month for sure, but we had a lot of fun. Our blog will be www.bookgerm.blogspot.com Awesome. Any suggestions for a fun romance for us to read in the hearty month of February?

Getting the new blog ready made me reevaluate my old one. Jennie Mathews likes to change things up constantly and I haven't changed mine since I started...so here it is...the new blog. I don't think I could put the time in to change it all the time. Lots of work!
